A Second Opinion And A Cup Of Coffee

| August 06, 2018

Here’s some food for thought: Think about all the life changes that have occurred in the past 5 years. If you’re like most people, your list will include family transitions like a child going to college or a parent passing away, moving or buying a new home, job changes, or even just income adjustments. Then there’s the external influences like tax reform, increased cost of living, and market highs and lows. Every one of these changes, whether major or minor, can have a significant impact on the likelihood of meeting your financial goals.

If you have a financial plan that hasn’t been updated in years, it’s time to revisit it and make sure it’s still working for you and taking you where you want to go. Here’s what I would like to offer: A cup of coffee and a second opinion.

A Financial Plan Check-up

By appointment, you’re welcome to come in and sit with me for awhile. I’ll ask you to outline your financial goals and review your current plan/401k/investment portfolio/insurance, etc. so that I know where you stand, where you want to be, and so that we are on the same page with your objectives. I will listen to your story and learn what makes you tick and what keeps you up at night.

I can answer any questions you may have about the market, strategies, or basic financial tips and principles. Then, we can apply your concerns, ideas, and needs to your current plan to see how everything lines up.

It’s Worth A Second Look

Only once we understand your circumstances can we provide objective and impartial feedback about your current situation. If I think your investments/insurance, etc. continue to be well suited to your long-term goals despite the market turmoil, I’ll gladly tell you so and send you on your way.

If on the other hand, I think your plan no longer fits your goals, I’ll explain why, in plain English. And, if you’d like, I’ll recommend some suitable alternatives. It may be that minor adjustments are needed based on your age, current economic woes, or a change in priorities and plans.

It never hurts to take a second look at your financial plan to ensure that it is up-to-date, still applicable to all aspects of your life, and ideally suited to achieve your long-term dreams. Regardless of the outcome of our second look, you will have full confidence in us, in your decisions, and in your financial plan.

Either way, the coffee is on me!

Let me help you evaluate where you are now, determine where you would like to go, and address any gaps that may be apparent. If you are ready to revisit your financial plan, call us today at (515) 226-0115 or email info@garlandandassoc.com to schedule a complimentary consultation.
